12 brave soldiers martyred, six Khwarij sent to hell in foiled attack on check-post in Bannu

RAWALPINDI – As many as 12 brave soldiers were martyred while six Khwarij were sent to hell in a foiled attempt to attack a check-post in MaliKhel area, Bannu.

According to a press release issued by ISPR on Wednesday, Khwarij attempted to attack a joint check-post on November 19.

In the ensuing fire exchange, six khwarij were sent to hell. The attempt to enter the post was effectively thwarted by Pakistan troops, which forced the Khwarij to ram an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall of the post.

The suicide blast led to collapse of portion of perimeter wall and damaged the adjoining infrastructure, resulting in martyrdom of 12 brave sons of soil that include 10 soldiers of the security forces and two soldiers of Frontier Constabulary.

“A sanitization operation is being conducted in the area and the perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice. Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan are determined to eliminating the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” said the ISPR.

Meanwhile, funeral prayers were offered for 12 soldiers martyred in Bannu Garrison. A large number of military and civil officers and jawans attended the funeral.

The martyred soldiers include Subedar Imran, Havildar Javed, Naik Tehmas, Naik Basit, Sepoy Safdar, Sepoy Asad, Sepoy Ijaz, Sepoy Atif, Sepoy Amanullah, Sepoy Shah Zaman and Sepoy Haseebullah.
