18 Pakistani Pilgrims Pass Away During Hajj 2025 in Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has confirmed that 18 Pakistani pilgrims lost their lives during the Hajj 2025 in Saudi Arabia. Among the deceased were 10 men and 8 women.

According to ministry sources, most of the pilgrims who passed away were elderly. The primary causes of death were reported as heart attacks and other health-related complications.

All of the deceased were laid to rest in Jannatul Baqi, one of the most sacred cemeteries in Madinah.

This year’s figures show a significant improvement compared to 2024, when 35 Pakistani pilgrims had passed away during Hajj.

Globally, 1,673,230 pilgrims participated in Hajj 2025, including 1,506,576 international pilgrims from 171 countries. According to Saudi Arabia’s official data, 166,654 domestic pilgrims also performed Hajj this year.

The event also saw one of the most balanced gender distributions in Hajj history, with 877,841 male pilgrims and 795,389 female pilgrims attending the holy journey.
