30 Khwarij killed in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Thirty Khwarij were killed in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, said a press release issued by the ISPR on Saturday.

On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by security forces in Lakki Marwat District. During the conduct of operation, Pak Army troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location. Resultantly, 18 Khwarij were sent to hell, while six Khwarij got injured.

Another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Karak District. In the ensuing fire exchange, eight Khwarij were effectively neutralized by the security forces.

In the third encounter that took place in general area Bagh, Khyber District, Pak Army troops successfully neutralized four Khwarij, including ringleaders Azizur Rehman alias Qari Ismail and Mukhlis, while two Khwarij got injured.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.

Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Khwarij found in the area. The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wiping out the menace of terrorism from the country.
