49 Palestinian women imprisoned in Israeli jails

In Jerusalem, a report revealed that 49 Palestinian women are currently imprisoned in Israeli jails, including two underage girls and one woman from Gaza. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, these women face severe mistreatment and abuse in detention centers and prisons. 49 Palestinian women imprisoned in Israeli jails.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society stated that since October 7, 2023, when Israel began its aggression in Gaza, the level of abuse against female prisoners has increased drastically. Many women are being subjected to both physical and psychological violence.
The organization further said that conditions for Palestinian detainees have worsened since October 2023. Prisoners are facing food shortages, a lack of medical care, and extremely poor living conditions inside the prisons.
Reports also highlighted serious human rights violations by Israeli authorities, including torture, humiliation, sexual harassment during body searches, and threats of rape. Female prisoners are also subjected to psychological pressure and physical assault.

Among the imprisoned women are cancer patient Fida Asaf, Gaza’s Tasneem Al-Hams, and two young girls, Sali Sidqi and Hina Hammad. Hina is being held under administrative detention without any formal charges, while 12 other women have also not been accused of any crime. 49 Palestinian women imprisoned in Israeli jails.
