Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Allocates Over Rs4 Billion for Development in Merged Districts

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced the release of over Rs4 billion in development funds for the merged districts, aiming to boost infrastructure, education, health, and local governance in the region.
According to an official document from the Finance Department, a total of Rs43.7 million has been allocated for various development schemes in the merged districts for the 2024-25 fiscal year. The funds will be utilized under two primary programs: the Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP) and the Annual Development Program (ADP).
The allocation includes Rs21.98 million under the AIP and Rs21.71 million under the ADP. Furthermore, Rs136 million has been earmarked for local government projects, which will be implemented as part of the ADP.
Key sectoral allocations for this development package include:
- Road Construction: Rs250 million under the ADP for the development of essential road infrastructure.
- Population and Relief Rehabilitation: Rs40 million under the AIP aimed at improving the well-being of the population and providing relief to communities.
- Multi-Sectoral Development: Rs1 million for various development activities under multiple sectors.
- Health Sector: Rs100 million under the ADP and Rs200 million under the AIP for improving healthcare facilities and services.
- Primary Education: Rs50 million under the ADP and Rs150 million under the AIP to strengthen education infrastructure and support educational initiatives.
The allocation of these funds reflects the KP government’s ongoing commitment to the development of merged districts and its efforts to ensure balanced growth in the region. These initiatives are expected to bring significant improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare services, benefiting local communities across the merged areas.
