Pakistan Women’s Team Not to Travel to India for ICC World Cup 2025

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the national women’s cricket team will not travel to India for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, scheduled for later this year.
Speaking at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground after Pakistan’s women’s team defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in a successful World Cup qualifying campaign, Naqvi congratulated the squad on their unbeaten run.
He said Pakistan’s participation in the global tournament would follow the “Fusion Formula”, which was previously agreed upon for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. “Pakistan will not go to India. This formula has already been agreed to,” Naqvi told reporters.
When asked about the possibility of playing at neutral venues, he said that the final decision lies with the host country, India.
It is important to mention that the International Cricket Council (ICC) had already addressed this issue in a press release dated December 19, 2024. According to that announcement, matches between India and Pakistan at ICC events during the 2024–2027 cycle will take place at neutral locations.
