Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Convenes CCI Meeting to Discuss Key National Issues

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) today (Monday), with several critical matters on the agenda.
Initially, the meeting was scheduled for May 2 (Friday) to deliberate on the proposed canals project on the Indus River. However, it was rescheduled at the request of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The project was recently put on hold following widespread protests in Sindh.
As per the earlier notification issued on Friday, the 52nd CCI meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Key attendees include Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister Amir Muqam, and the chief ministers of all four provinces. In addition, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Health Minister Mustafa Kamal are also expected to join the discussions.
Furthermore, the ministers for petroleum, water resources, and power division have been invited to attend the session, highlighting the broad scope of issues set to be addressed.
