Historic increase in Pakistan Stock Exchange

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded a historic rally on Monday as the KSE-100 index surged by 9,475.49 points, closing at 116,650.12 — marking an impressive 8.84% gain. The sudden upswing triggered a temporary one-hour suspension due to the exceptional increase.
The bullish momentum continued during the opening session as the index briefly touched 117,104.11 points, reflecting strong investor confidence fuelled by key developments on the political and economic fronts.
According to market analysts, the dramatic rise was largely driven by the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India — a major step towards regional stability — coupled with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) approval of a fresh loan tranche for Pakistan.
