Quetta Gladiators secured their place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 final with a 30-run victory over defending champions Islamabad United in Qualifier 1 at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Set a challenging target of 210, Islamabad United were bowled out for 179 in 19.4 overs despite some strong performances in the middle order.

United’s chase ended poorly as opener Alex Hales departed for a duck in just the second over. However, Rassie van der Dussen and Sahibzada Farhan steadied the innings with a 71-run stand. Van der Dussen was dismissed in the ninth after a brisk 35 off 23 deliveries.

Farhan continued to anchor the innings, scoring a well-crafted 52 off 35 balls before falling with the score at 128. His departure triggered a collapse, with Islamabad slipping to 150 for 6 in the 16th over.

Usman Tariq delivered a game-changing over, dismissing Salman Ali Agha (44) and Naseem Shah in consecutive balls, leaving United in deep trouble. The tail offered little resistance as the Gladiators wrapped up the innings with six balls to spare.

Usman Tariq led the bowling attack for Quetta with three wickets, while Mohammad Amir, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed two scalps each. Spinner Abrar Ahmed chipped in with a crucial wicket as well.

Earlier, after choosing to bat first, Quetta Gladiators posted a formidable total of 209 for 8. The innings had a shaky start with skipper Saud Shakeel departing early. Finn Allen (41) and Avishka Fernando (32) provided stability before both were quickly dismissed.
