Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has postponed the party’s protest movement for two weeks, citing rising regional tensions.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, PTI leader Noreen Khan said that Khan made the decision in light of the current geopolitical situation and is awaiting official statements from the Prime Minister, President, and Army Chief.

Imran Khan stressed the need for national unity, warning that global events are directly affecting Pakistan. He criticised the federal budget as catering to the elite, placing the entire tax burden on salaried citizens, and worsening poverty.

He also highlighted that over 3.3 million educated Pakistanis have left the country in recent years.

Regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget, Khan emphasised that it would only be passed after consultation with Ali Amin Gandapur, Taimur Jhagra, Muzzammil Aslam, and Shibli Faraz.
