Longest Day and Shortest Night of 2025 Observed Today

KARACHI: Today, the world marks the summer solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year 2025.

According to astronomers, daylight will last for 13 hours and 41 minutes, while the night will be just 10 hours and 19 minutes long. This marks the peak of daylight for the year.

Experts noted that after July 1, the duration of daylight will gradually begin to shorten. By September 22, day and night will reach nearly equal length, an event known as the equinox.

This annual cycle, caused by the Earth’s tilt, plays a vital role in shaping seasonal patterns worldwide.

The solstice is a significant astronomical event, celebrated across the globe through cultural festivals and scientific observances, as people enjoy the extended hours of daylight.

NDMA Weather Advisory:

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory, warning of expected rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms in different parts of the country from June 20 to June 23.
