Elon Musk doesn’t use computer, lawyers claim in Court

California: In a surprising revelation during an ongoing legal battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI, Musk’s lawyers told a California court that the billionaire does not use a computer and conducts nearly all of his work via smartphone.

The statement came as both sides submitted evidence in the case. Musk’s legal team said his phones and emails could be searched, but he does not actively use a computer.

The claim raised eyebrows, as Musk is frequently seen referencing laptops and PC-based games on social media. In December 2024, he even posted a picture of his 3-year-old laptop on X (formerly Twitter).

Despite this, his lawyers maintain that Musk prefers smartphones with large displays and handles both personal and professional tasks on his phone.

The case stems from Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, alleging that the company violated its original non-profit charter. OpenAI has denied the accusations, and both sides are now requesting permission to submit emails and documents as evidence.
