Muharram moon sighted in Pakistan

Quetta: The crescent moon marking the start of Muharram 1447 AH has been sighted in Pakistan, according to an official announcement by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The moon-sighting meeting was held in Quetta with representatives from the Meteorological Department and SUPARCO in attendance. Zonal and district moon-sighting committees also convened at their respective locations.
As per the announcement, the 1st Muharram will fall on Friday, June 27, while Ashura (10th Muharram) will be observed on Sunday, July 6.
