Naseeruddin Shah Stands by ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Cast, Slams Trolls as ‘Thugs’

Legendary Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has come out strongly in support of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir amid the controversy surrounding their upcoming film “Sardaar Ji 3”. In a powerful social media post, Shah lashed out at those trying to stir trouble, labelling them as “thugs”.

Expressing solidarity with Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah wrote, “I stand firmly with Diljit against those who are trying to make ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ controversial for no valid reason.” He criticised certain political groups, saying they had long been waiting for an opportunity to attack Diljit, and the film finally gave them that excuse.

Shah made it clear that casting decisions are made by the director, not by the actor, yet Diljit is being unfairly targeted simply because of his fame.

The veteran actor also took a firm stand against efforts to create hostility between India and Pakistan on a personal level. “Some of my close relatives and friends live in Pakistan. No one can stop me from loving them or meeting them,” he stated.

In a sharp response to those telling him to “go to Pakistan”, he added, “My answer to them is — you go to Kailasa.” (referring sarcastically to the self-proclaimed kingdom of a controversial figure).
