Lahore: Smog Crisis, Schools Closed in Various Districts of Punjab

Due to the severity of smog, the Punjab government has announced the closure of educational institutions in various districts of the province. The Director General of Environment Punjab notified that all private and public educational institutions, up to 12th grade and A-Levels, will remain closed.

The notification further stated that all educational institutions will shift to online classes to ensure that educational activities continue. This decision will be applicable in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, and Khanewal.

The school closure decision will be in effect from November 7 to November 17. Authorities have also advised citizens to take preventive measures against smog to minimize its health impacts.
