The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced new regulations regarding the Family Registration Certificate (FRC), a vital document issued to Pakistani citizens for family verification and official recordkeeping.

According to the latest policy, applicants must now provide a formal assurance confirming the accuracy of the information they submit. The FRC is strictly based on NADRA’s records, and three distinct family types have been introduced:

  • Alpha – By Birth

  • Beta – By Marriage

  • Gamma – By Adoption

In cases where a family member is not listed, the applicant is responsible for updating the record through NADRA. Corrections and deletions of incorrect entries can be processed at NADRA centers or via the Pak Identity mobile app.

One major update in the new FRC is that it now includes complete information regarding men who have more than one marriage, removing past ambiguities.

How to Apply:
Citizens can apply for an FRC in two ways:

  1. By visiting any NADRA Registration Center (NRC)

  2. Online via the Pak Identity mobile application

Fee Structure:

  • The standard fee for any type of FRC is Rs. 1,000.

  • If an individual requests both “By Birth” and “By Marriage” details in the same certificate, the fee is doubled.
