Great News for Government Employees

Muzaffarabad: In a major relief for government employees, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has approved a 30% disparity allowance, effective from July 1, 2025. The official notification has been issued following the government’s approval.

According to the notification, the allowance will be calculated based on the employees’ basic salaries and will apply from the beginning of the current fiscal year.

The purpose of the disparity allowance is to reduce the income gap among employees working in different departments and institutions. Earlier, the federal government and various provinces had announced a 10% to 12% increase in salaries in their annual budgets. Some provinces, including Balochistan and Punjab, also introduced ad hoc relief allowances for different employee grades.

The decision has been warmly received by government employees across Azad Kashmir. Many see it as timely and essential support amid rising inflation and economic pressures.

Experts believe this move could not only improve the financial well-being of employees but also enhance productivity and efficiency in government institutions. If implemented consistently, it may pave the way for further reforms and benefits in the public sector.
