Government Announces New Petroleum Prices

The government has officially announced new petroleum prices for the next fifteen days.
According to the latest notification, the price of petrol will remain unchanged. This decision comes amid routine fortnightly adjustments made by the government.

Petrol’s current price stays fixed at 264 rupees and 61 paisa per litre. However, the biggest change is in high-speed diesel. Its price has been reduced by 12 rupees and 84 paisa, setting the new rate at 272 rupees and 99 paisa per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of kerosene oil has also been reduced. It has dropped by 7 rupees and 19 paisa, making the new rate 178 rupees and 27 paisa per litre. This reduction is expected to give some relief to middle- and lower-income households.
Light diesel oil has also seen a notable decrease. The price has been cut by 8 rupees and 20 paisa, bringing the new rate to 162 rupees and 37 paisa per litre. This change will benefit transporters and industries dependent on light diesel.
