Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has lauded Saudi Arabia’s growing global influence and its significant contributions to humanitarian causes, describing the Kingdom as a “symbol of humanity.”

Speaking at an international event, Gates highlighted Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in addressing global challenges, including public health, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development. He emphasised that the Kingdom’s initiatives reflect its commitment to improving lives around the world.

“Saudi Arabia’s great global roles enhance its position as a symbol of humanity,” Gates said, acknowledging the Kingdom’s contributions through partnerships with international organisations and its investments in innovation, renewable energy, and humanitarian aid.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has ramped up its efforts to address pressing global issues. The Kingdom has been a key contributor to pandemic response efforts, climate action, and global food security initiatives. These endeavours align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a roadmap for economic diversification and sustainable development spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Gates also highlighted the Kingdom’s work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in areas such as combating infectious diseases and promoting healthcare solutions in underserved regions.

The remarks come at a time when Saudi Arabia is increasingly positioning itself as a global leader, hosting high-profile events and fostering collaborations with international stakeholders. Gates’ endorsement reflects the growing recognition of Saudi Arabia’s role in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future.
