New Eco-Tourism Zone Coming to Swat

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to create an eco-tourism zone in Usho Forest, Kalam Valley, Swat. Dr. Abdul Samad, Secretary of Archaeology and Tourism, announced the project on Wednesday. He said Usho Forest’s natural beauty makes it a vital tourist attraction. This initiative aims to boost sustainable tourism and protect the environment. The government hopes the project will attract more visitors to the area.
Dr. Samad explained the eco-tourism zone follows the successful “Manro Track” project by the Forest and Tourism Departments. He called this a major step toward eco-friendly tourism in the province. The project also seeks to help the local economy grow by creating jobs. It will promote tourism that respects nature and supports local communities. This will bring long-term benefits to the region.
As part of the plan, a rest area with traditional design will be built inside Usho Forest. This facility will offer better comfort for tourists while preserving the area’s cultural and natural charm. The government wants to ensure visitors enjoy the forest without harming its beauty. The rest area will blend with the environment and keep local traditions alive. It will improve visitor experience and encourage longer stays.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department promised strict protection of Usho’s natural forests. Officials said no damage to the environment will be allowed. They emphasized the importance of preserving this precious forest for future generations. The department will monitor activities closely to prevent harm. This commitment reassures tourists and conservationists alike.
According to the Tourism Department, more eco-tourism projects are in the pipeline. These projects will involve the Forest Department and local communities working together. The goal is to open new tourism avenues while safeguarding nature. The government aims to develop sustainable tourism that benefits both visitors and residents. This strategy hopes to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a leading eco-tourism destination.
