Traffic Plan Issued for Pakistan vs South Africa Matches

In preparation for the Pakistan vs South Africa cricket matches scheduled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24,

the Rawalpindi traffic police have issued a special traffic plan outlining road closures and alternate routes. According to the traffic police spokesperson, over 367 officers and personnel will be deployed to manage traffic flow during the event.

Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad towards Expressway, while traffic heading from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be rerouted via 6th Road towards Saidpur. Stadium Road, from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road, will remain completely closed during the matches, and commuters traveling via 9th Avenue are advised to use IJP Road or Faizabad as alternatives.

To facilitate cricket fans, three designated parking points have been allocated: Civil Aviation Ground, Shehbaz Sharif Park, and Graduate College. A shuttle service will run from these parking areas to the stadium to ensure public convenience.

Traffic police have requested citizens to follow the announced plan and use alternative routes to help maintain order and avoid congestion.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the upcoming Pakistan–South Africa series, which includes Test, ODI, and T20I matches to be played in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad.

According to the schedule, Ranjan Madugalle has been appointed as the match referee for the entire series.

The first Test match will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from October 12 to 16, with Rodney Tucker and Christopher Brown serving as on-field umpires.

The second Test will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24, where Christopher Brown and Saikat Sharfuddoula will officiate as on-field umpires.
