ICC Women’s World Cup: India Beat Australia to Reach the Final

In the second semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup, India defeated defending champions Australia by 5 wickets to qualify for the final. With an impressive batting performance and strong teamwork, India successfully chased the highest target in the tournament’s history, delighting cricket fans across the country.

The thrilling match took place in Mumbai, where Australia batted first and scored 338 runs before being bowled out in the final over. Phoebe Litchfield played a brilliant innings of 119 runs with 17 fours and 3 sixes. Alyssa Perry added 77 runs, while Ashleigh Gardner scored 63 valuable runs for the Australian side.

India’s bowlers performed well under pressure. Shrey Charani and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each to restrict Australia’s total. Despite a strong batting lineup, the Australian team could not defend their big score against a determined Indian side.

In reply, India chased down the target of 339 runs in the 49th over with five wickets in hand. Jemimah Rodrigues played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 127 runs, hitting 14 boundaries, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 89 runs. This became the highest successful run chase in the history of the ICC Women’s World Cup.
