Explosion in Swiss Ski Resort Crans-Montana Bar

Switzerland : A powerful explosion in the renowned Swiss luxury ski resort town of Crans-Montana has left multiple people dead and several others injured. The incident occurred early Thursday morning, shocking both residents and tourists gathered for New Year celebrations.

Police reported that the blast took place around 1:30 a.m. inside the popular bar Le Constellation, which was filled with a large crowd enjoying the festive night. The sudden explosion caused panic throughout the resort.

Gaëtan Lathion, spokesperson for the Valais cantonal police, stated that the cause of the explosion remains unknown. He confirmed that several individuals have died, while many injured are being treated at nearby hospitals.

Following the explosion, the building quickly caught fire, making rescue operations more challenging. Firefighters and emergency teams rushed to the scene and worked for hours to control the blaze.

Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as thick smoke filled the area and people scrambled to escape the burning structure. Some individuals were reported trapped under debris, prompting specialized rescue teams to intervene.
