Maryam Nawaz Announces Province-Wide Fire Safety Systems Audit in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a comprehensive audit of fire safety systems across the province, emphasizing the protection of lives and property as the government’s top priority.

In an official statement, the chief minister said that the existing fire safety mechanisms would be thoroughly reviewed and new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs would be developed.

She added that concrete measures would be taken to further strengthen fire safety systems in order to effectively deal with emergency situations.

According to Maryam Nawaz, the audit will cover government offices, hospitals, schools, private institutions, and other important facilities throughout Punjab.

Special attention will be given to locations where there is a risk of short circuits or fire outbreaks to prevent incidents before they occur.

The chief minister stressed that negligence in fire safety measures would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

She reiterated that ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property is a core responsibility of the provincial government, and all relevant departments have been directed to take immediate action.
