PSL 11 schedule

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the preliminary schedule for the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL). The season will begin on March 26 with a proposed opening match between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the new franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen. PCB officials held a meeting with representatives from all franchises to discuss the schedule. The final schedule will be confirmed after considering their suggestions. Practice sessions for the teams are scheduled from March 22 to 25 ahead of the tournament.

The PSL 11 opening match is set to take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Traditionally, the defending champion team plays the first game of the season. Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Kingsmen on opening day. Matches will be hosted across multiple cities including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. PCB has also confirmed that Peshawar Zalmi will play their first match under floodlights on March 28 against Islamabad United.

The playoff schedule has been outlined by the PCB. Qualifier 1 is scheduled for May 2 in Rawalpindi. Eliminator 1 will take place the following day at Gaddafi Stadium. Eliminator 2 is set for May 5 at the same venue. The final is expected on May 10, most likely at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Officials emphasized that these dates are provisional and subject to minor adjustments.

PSL 11 will feature eight teams this season. Returning franchises include Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators. New teams include Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, Pindees, and Sialkot Stallions. The Multan Sultans franchise has not been renewed and is now renamed Pindees under new ownership. Sialkot Stallions face financial issues, and new investors may acquire the majority stake under the name Multan.

The PCB confirmed that franchise ownership issues are being resolved. Franchise representatives are in discussions to finalize team names and ownership rights. The addition of new teams is expected to increase competition and excitement. Officials also stressed that logistical arrangements across cities are being planned carefully. Fans can expect an engaging and competitive season starting in late March.
