Punjab launches police app for online FIRs

Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the Punjab Police Pakistan App, a digital platform designed to simplify public access to police services across Punjab.
The newly launched app allows citizens to report lost documents, including identity cards, passports and driving licences, without visiting a police station. Users can submit complaints online and receive a copy of the missing report (FIR) at their doorstep, significantly reducing the need for in-person visits.
Speaking at the launch, the chief minister said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for public convenience. She emphasised that modernising governance and improving service delivery remain key priorities for her administration.

The app is expected to save citizens both time and money while easing the stress often associated with filing reports at police stations. Officials believe the move will also enhance transparency and efficiency within the policing system.
Separately, the Punjab government has expanded its agricultural support initiatives with the launch of Kisan Card Loan Phase-III in Chiniot district. The programme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers and improve agricultural productivity.
Under the initiative, teams from the Agriculture Extension Department have been mobilised to raise awareness at the grassroots level. Outreach efforts include announcements in mosques and direct engagement with farmers in villages to ensure maximum participation.
Facilitation desks have also been established at tehsil and district levels to streamline the registration process and assist farmers in accessing the scheme without delays.
Authorities say these initiatives highlight the government’s broader vision of combining digital innovation with economic support programmes to improve public welfare and strengthen key sectors such as agriculture.
