Two suspects killed in Karachi police encounters

At least two suspected robbers were killed in separate police encounters across Karachi, while one injured suspect was arrested and several others managed to escape, police officials said.

The first encounter took place near Abdullah College, where police claimed to have killed a suspected robber during an exchange of fire. Authorities said weapons, mobile phones, and allegedly stolen items were recovered from the suspect’s possession.

In another incident near Rizvia Jahangirabad Nadi, police reported a second encounter in which one suspect was killed, while his accomplice fled the scene. Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to apprehend the escaped individual.

Meanwhile, in the Malir City area, police engaged suspects in a separate encounter, resulting in the arrest of one injured accused. His accomplice managed to escape, prompting further investigations and raids in surrounding areas.

In a separate incident, two robbers carried out a robbery at a hotel in Korangi Awami Colony, looting cash and mobile phones before fleeing without resistance. Police have registered the case and are reviewing CCTV footage to trace the suspects.

Another attempted robbery was foiled in Defence View, where residents prevented five armed individuals from entering a house. Locals chained the suspects’ motorcycles, forcing them to flee on foot while firing shots to escape.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing clear images of at least three suspects, while two others were seen wearing helmets. Police have taken the abandoned motorcycles into custody and initiated an investigation.

Authorities say efforts are underway to arrest all suspects involved in these incidents and improve security in affected areas.
