CCTV footage surfaces in Lahore triple child murder case as mother arrested

New CCTV footage has emerged in the tragic case of three children killed in Lahore’s Ichhra area, where police say the accused is their own mother.

According to police, the footage shows the woman leaving the street shortly after the incident and later returning to the neighbourhood, where she was seen interacting with residents and reportedly assisting in making a call to emergency helpline 15. The video has now been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) for detailed analysis.

The victims were identified as 5-year-old Mominah Batool, 4-year-old Momin Raza, and 18-month-old Umme Habiba. Their bodies were discovered inside a house in Ichhra, with initial findings confirming that they had been killed using a sharp-edged weapon.

Police officials said post-mortem examinations of all three children have been completed, after which their bodies were handed over to the family. The grieving relatives later took the bodies to their ancestral village in Jhang for burial.

Investigators initially launched a probe into the incident before uncovering shocking evidence pointing towards the mother as the primary suspect. She was subsequently taken into custody, and according to police sources, she has confessed to the crime during preliminary interrogation.

Authorities said the accused will be produced before a local court today, where police will seek physical remand for further investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the killings.
