JUI-F expresses dissatisfaction over police probe into Maulana Idrees killing

A meeting of the general council of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) held at Jamia Mahmoodia in Tangi/Tarngezai, Charsadda, has expressed serious dissatisfaction over the police investigation into the killing of prominent religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idrees.
The meeting, chaired by district emir Maulana Dr Ilahi Jan, reviewed the investigation progress, the planned protest demonstration scheduled for Friday, and the party’s future course of action. Participants voiced concern over what they described as a lack of meaningful progress in the case even after three days have passed since the incident.
The council unanimously decided that if no significant development is reported by 10am on Friday, JUI-F Charsadda will proceed with its planned protest strategy. Leaders warned that continued silence over the targeted killings of religious scholars would not be tolerated, and failure to arrest the perpetrators could trigger a wider protest movement.
