Ali Amin Gandapur Faces Arrest in Weapons Case

Islamabad, A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur in a case involving the alleged recovery of liquor and illegal weapons.
The development came during Tuesday’s hearing, presided over by Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti. The court expressed displeasure over Gandapur’s repeated absence and directed authorities to arrest and produce him before the court.
The case, which dates back to 2016, remains registered at the Bara Kahu Police Station in Islamabad. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 28.
According to police, on October 30, 2016, Ali Amin Gandapur’s vehicle was stopped at a check post on Rukhsana Bangash Road while he was on his way to Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala. During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement claimed to have recovered four Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, a tear-gas gun, bulletproof vests, and bottles of liquor.
The recovered items were displayed at the Bara Kahu police station at the time.
The court has now moved to compel Gandapur’s appearance in court as proceedings continue in the long-pending case.
