Amir Jangoo shines on debut with record-breaking century against Bangladesh

In a dazzling display of skill and composure, Amir Jangoo announced his arrival on the international stage in spectacular fashion. Making his ODI debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh on December 12 at Warner Park, St. Kitts, the 27-year-old left-hander played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 104 runs off just 83 balls.

Jangoo reached his century in style, smashing a six off his 80th delivery to etch his name in the history books as the fastest player to score a century on an ODI debut. Globally, Jangoo is now the 18th player to score a century on ODI debut, a list that includes some of the sport’s greats. His achievement has drawn comparisons with other debut centurions, including India’s KL Rahul, who scored an unbeaten 100 on his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2016.
