Another Round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Talks Should Happen: Taliban

Suhail Shaheen, the Taliban’s ambassador to Qatar, said that another round of Pakistan-Afghanistan talks should happen. He emphasized that despite recent discussions, both countries have not reached a final agreement, and continued dialogue is needed to resolve ongoing issues.
The second round of talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan was held recently in Istanbul, Turkey, and lasted for four days. High-level officials from both sides participated, but the discussions ended without a breakthrough.

The main reason for the talks failing was the Afghan delegation’s refusal to guarantee stopping cross-border terrorism. Pakistan provided evidence and assurances, but the Afghan side did not commit to any concrete actions. Suhail Shaheen was part of this delegation.
Shaheen told BBC that one round of talks is never enough for a final agreement. He stressed that dialogue between the two countries should continue so that positive results can be achieved in the future.

For this reason, Shaheen again highlighted that another round of Pakistan-Afghanistan talks should happen. Pakistan has also announced that it will continue operations against terrorists and their supporters to maintain peace and security in the region.
