Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Scheme: Eligibility and application procedure for free plots

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the E-Portal for the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar programme, a landmark initiative aimed at providing free residential plots to deserving low-income families across the province.

 

As part of the programme’s first phase, 2,000 three-marla plots will be distributed in 23 housing schemes across 19 districts. The initiative is being implemented under the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA).

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet a strict set of criteria:

  • Punjab Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC.
  • District Requirement: Applications must be submitted for the applicant’s home district only.
  • No Property Ownership: Applicant or their immediate family must not own any other property in Pakistan.
  • Clean Record: Applicant must have no criminal background or bank defaults.
  • Honest Declarations: Any false information will result in disqualification.

Allotment Rules

Successful applicants will receive their plot with the following conditions:

  • Construction Deadline: Home construction must begin within six months and be completed within two years of possession.
  • No Transfers: Plots cannot be sold, leased, or transferred for at least five years.
  • Residential Use Only: Plots must be used for housing, not for commercial activities.
  • Non-Compliance: Failure to follow the rules can lead to cancellation of the plot without compensation.
  • Dispute Handling: Any issues will be resolved by the PHATA Grievance Redressal Committee.
