Arshad Nadeem Ranked Fourth Globally in Javelin Throw by World Athletics

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s star javelin thrower and Olympic medallist Arshad Nadeem has secured the fourth position in the latest World Athletics global rankings for javelin throwers.
According to the update released by the World Athletics Federation, Arshad currently holds 1,370 points, placing him among the world’s top competitors despite having participated in only one ranking event so far this year.
India’s Neeraj Chopra continues to lead the global rankings with 1,445 points, followed by Anderson Peters of Grenada in third place (1,431 points) and Julian Weber of Germany in second (1,407 points).
Other notable athletes include Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, ranked fifth with 1,346 points, and Julius Yego of Kenya at sixth with 1,314 points.
Arshad’s sole performance this season came at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok, where he captured gold with an impressive throw of 86.40 metres. Despite his limited appearances, his consistent form has kept him firmly in the elite rankings.
Looking ahead, Arshad Nadeem is expected to participate in two to three international competitions ahead of the World Athletics Championships scheduled for September. These events will be critical not only for improving his world ranking but also for building momentum ahead of one of the biggest tournaments of the year.
