Babar Azam breaks another record

KARACHI: Pakistan’s star batter, Babar Azam, has achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching 6,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

With this achievement, Babar has joined South Africa’s Hashim Amla in the record for the fastest player to score 6,000 runs, having accomplished the feat in just 123 innings. Additionally, Babar has become the fastest Asian player to reach this landmark, surpassing India’s Virat Kohli, who took 136 innings to achieve the same.

Babar Azam is now the 11th Pakistani cricketer to join the exclusive 6,000 ODI runs club. Other notable Pakistani players who have crossed this milestone include Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Saleem Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, and Ejaz Ahmed.

Babar’s 6,000th run came during his 10th run in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series final, as Pakistan faced New Zealand at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
