Bajaur Blast Claims Lives of Assistant Commissioner and Four Others

A powerful bomb blast near Sadiqabad Phatak in Bajaur’s Khar tehsil has left four people dead, including Assistant Commissioner Nawagai, a Tehsildar, and two other officials, local authorities confirmed.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq, the explosion targeted the vehicle of the Assistant Commissioner. Rescue teams reached the scene immediately and began transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police forces have cordoned off the area and initiated evidence collection. Initial reports suggest that the blast was a targeted attack, although investigations are ongoing to determine the full nature of the incident.

The tragic event has once again highlighted the fragile security situation in the region. It’s worth noting that a similar attack occurred last year in the Dama Dola area of Bajaur, where former Senator Hidayatullah and two others were killed in a remote-controlled bomb explosion.
