Balochistan Authorities Impose Night Travel Ban on Public Transport and Trucks

In response to rising security concerns, the authorities in Balochistan have imposed a night travel ban on public transport and trucks in the Kachhi and Musakhel districts. The new restrictions, which are effective from 5 PM to 5 AM, aim to enhance safety following a series of attacks on passengers.
According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kachhi, the ban will restrict traffic movement on key routes during the night. Public transport and trucks travelling from Sibi to Quetta will be halted at Kolpur between 5 PM and 5 AM, with movement resuming only in the morning hours. Similarly, traffic from Loralai to Dera Ghazi Khan will be stopped at Kangri from 6 PM to 5 AM.
The decision follows a series of violent incidents targeting public transport, the most recent being the tragic killing of six passengers in Gwadar. These individuals were forcibly removed from a bus and murdered, prompting immediate security concerns for passengers travelling in the region.
Authorities have assured the public that these measures are being implemented to ensure the safety and security of travellers.
