Ban Imposed on Indian Films During Eid-al-Adha to Promote Local Cinema

The Pakistani government has imposed a ban on the screening of Indian films in cinemas across the country during the Eid al-Adha festival period.
Official sources state that the ban will begin two days prior to Eid and last for two weeks, impacting all Indian films, including Punjabi movies and dubbed versions in various languages.
This decision aims to provide maximum support and visibility to Pakistani films releasing during the Eid holiday, allowing local productions to capture the box office and strengthen the domestic film industry.
Industry insiders have welcomed the move, saying it will be an encouraging step for Pakistani filmmakers, directors, and actors. Eid releases of local films are gaining success not only boosting the industry financially but also helping restore viewer confidence in Pakistani cinema.
