Pakistan’s former stylish Test cricketer and current analyst Basit Ali has heavily criticized the national selection committee over the team’s consecutive losses.

Following Pakistan’s dismal performance in New Zealand and their defeat in the T20 series, Basit Ali has demanded the immediate resignation of the national selection committee. In addition, after the team faced a whitewash in the One-Day series, Basit Ali criticized the committee once again on his YouTube channel, stating that they have no understanding of how a team should be prepared.

Basit Ali specifically addressed members of the selection committee, including Aleem Dar, Aqib Javed, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, and Hassan Cheema, accusing them of lacking knowledge on how to form a competitive team. He pointed out that Pakistan’s performance has been lacklustre since the Champions Trophy, raising questions as to why spinners were not included in the squad for the tournament.

He further called for the resignation of interim head coach Aqib Javed and the entire selection committee, warning that if they remain in their positions, Pakistan might even lose the upcoming series against Bangladesh.
