The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has once again brought politics into the game by announcing a refusal to engage in any cricketing activity with Pakistan. The decision comes in the wake of a recent firing incident involving tourists in the Pahalgam area of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

According to media reports, the BCCI made this move under pressure from the Indian government, citing security concerns and strained diplomatic relations. The board stated that, considering the current situation and the Pahalgam incident, no cricket matches or series will be played against Pakistan at any level.

The firing incident, which occurred a day earlier in the conflict-ridden region, has been used as a basis for the decision. This development could further impact cricketing ties between the two neighbours, which have already been limited to major ICC tournaments in recent years.
