JAMSHORO: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari emphasized the importance of collective action to combat climate change during his address at the convocation ceremony of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology in Jamshoro. He highlighted the ongoing environmental challenges faced by Pakistan, particularly the devastating floods of 2022, which caused widespread damage across Sindh.

Speaking to the graduates, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stressed that climate change is one of the major issues the country must confront. “We are grappling with multiple challenges, and climate change is at the forefront,” he said, recalling the catastrophic floods that ravaged Sindh and underscoring the need for urgent action to mitigate such environmental crises.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari congratulated the successful students, urging them to contribute to the nation’s progress. “Today is a moment of pride and joy for all the graduates. I encourage you to use your skills and knowledge to drive the country forward. Tackling climate change is not an individual task but a collective responsibility that requires everyone’s involvement,” he remarked.

The PPP Chairman also praised Mehran University for its significant role in shaping the future of Pakistan. “Mehran University is one of the top educational institutions in the country, and many members of the Sindh Assembly are proud alumni of this institution,” he said. “We are proud of Sindh’s engineers, who are instrumental in the development of our infrastructure.”
