In a recent interview with the BBC, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari issued a stern warning to the Indian government regarding the potential disruption of Pakistan’s water supply. He emphasised that if India attempts to block or cut off water flows to Pakistan, it could lead to unavoidable conflict between the two countries.

Bilawal stated, “If India blocks our water, war will be inevitable,” directly addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He highlighted the seriousness of water security for Pakistan and the potential consequences of any hostile actions in this regard.

The PPP chairman emphasised Pakistan’s steadfast and honest position on several key issues. He commended Pakistan’s initiatives against terrorism, acknowledging that these efforts have received recognition from the United States.

“The U.S. is well aware of how we deal with terrorist groups,” Bilawal remarked, explaining that Pakistan has actively taken measures against extremist organisations, which the international community, including the U.S., has closely observed.

Additionally, Bilawal pointed out Pakistan’s progress in meeting global financial standards, confirming that the country has completed all requirements set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
