Bushra Ansari honoured with ‘Star of Pakistan’ award by UK parliament

Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has been awarded the prestigious ‘Star of Pakistan’ accolade by the UK Parliament, making her the first female drama actor from Pakistan to receive this honour.

The award was presented to Ansari during a special event organised by the British Asian Society and Samara Events UK at the British Parliament. The ceremony was hosted by Member of Parliament Yasmin Qureshi, who handed over the award to the esteemed actress in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Pakistani drama industry.

Bushra Ansari, known for her decades-long career in television, film, and theatre, was acknowledged for her dedication to the entertainment industry and her role in showcasing Pakistani culture on a global stage.

Speaking at the event, Ansari highlighted the significance of Pakistani dramas in promoting the country’s culture, traditional attire, and the Urdu language worldwide, including in the UK.

Expressing her gratitude, she stated, “It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting.”

Taking to Instagram, the legendary actress shared her excitement, writing, “So happy to receive this honour at the British Parliament today! Thank you, God.”
