Car Parts Found in Islamabad Flash Flood Tragedy

Rescue teams have recovered the bonnet and a door of a car that was swept away in a sudden flash flood in a private housing society in Islamabad, as the search for a missing father and daughter continues into its third day.
According to official reports, heavy rainfall earlier this week triggered severe flooding in parts of the federal capital. Retired Pakistan Army Colonel Qazi and his young daughter went missing after their vehicle was caught in the fast-moving floodwaters.
The pair had reportedly left their home when their car stalled during the downpour. As they attempted to navigate away from the area, a powerful flood current engulfed the vehicle, dragging it downstream with both passengers inside.
Rescue teams initially recovered the bumper and side mirror of the car during search operations on the first day. Now, the bonnet and one of the vehicle’s doors have been discovered beneath the Soan River Bridge, raising hopes that the rest of the car—and possibly further clues—may soon be found.
Authorities say search and recovery teams are working tirelessly with divers and equipment to scan flood-affected zones, particularly along the Soan River and adjoining waterways. Despite challenging weather conditions, efforts remain in full swing to locate the missing individuals.
With more rainfall expected in the coming days, local authorities have urged residents of low-lying and flood-prone areas to take precautionary measures. Emergency helplines remain active, and citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during storms.
