ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is chairing a key meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI), with all four provincial chief ministers and federal ministers, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, and Amir Muqam, in attendance. A total of 25 individuals have been invited as special participants.

The meeting will review a six-point agenda, including a proposal by the Sindh government for new canal development projects. The council will also examine and approve the annual reports for 2021–22, 2022–23, and 2023–24. Approval of recruitment rules for the CCI Secretariat and review of NEPRA’s annual reports for the last three years are also on the agenda.

Originally scheduled for May 2, the meeting was convened earlier at the request of the Sindh government. Ahead of the session, PM Shehbaz Sharif met with the chief ministers of all provinces — Maryam Nawaz, Murad Ali Shah, Sarfraz Bugti, and Ali Amin Gandapur.
