Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India became possible following a direct telephone conversation between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries.

According to Indian media, Misri stated that both sides have agreed to refrain from land, air, and naval attacks. The ceasefire officially came into effect at 3:35 PM local time.

He emphasised that India has never initiated aggression and expressed hope that this ceasefire would prove beneficial for both nations. Misri also noted that following the agreement, nationwide air operations were immediately resumed.

It is worth mentioning that U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio also confirmed that the ceasefire was the result of intense overnight diplomacy, facilitated through American mediation involving both countries’ leadership.
