Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Meet for Moon Sighting of Shawwal

ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a crucial meeting on Sunday, 29th of Ramadan 1446 AH, at 6:00 PM to observe the moon sighting for the start of Shawwal and determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations across Pakistan.

The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad and will take place on the rooftop of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad. Along with the central meeting, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees in provincial capitals will also convene to observe the moon sighting in their respective regions.

The official announcement of the moon sighting will confirm the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, marking the start of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

Eid-ul-Fitr is anticipated to be celebrated across Pakistan on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the completion of 29 days of fasting during Ramadan. The moon sighting will serve as a key event to finalise the date of this significant religious festival for millions of Muslims nationwide.
