China to the US: “we are ready for war—any war!”

China has sent a clear warning to the United States, declaring that it is prepared for any type of war, including a trade war, amid escalating tensions over tariffs.
The conflict between the world’s two largest economies has intensified after Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on all Chinese goods. In response, China retaliated by imposing 10-15% tariffs on US agricultural products.
“If war is what the US wants—whether it’s a tariff war, a trade war, or any other kind—we are ready to fight till the end,” China’s embassy stated on X, citing a government statement.
This bold statement comes as China’s National People’s Congress convenes in Beijing. Meanwhile, Premier Li Qiang announced a 7.2% increase in China’s defence spending, emphasizing that global shifts are happening at an unprecedented speed.
China aims to project stability amid growing international tensions, contrasting itself with the US, which it accuses of being entangled in Middle Eastern and Ukrainian conflicts. Additionally, Beijing is looking to strengthen ties with other nations affected by Trump’s tariffs, including Canada and Mexico.
