COAS Hosts Dinner to Honour Operation Bunyanum Marsoos Heroes

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), hosted a high-profile dinner to honour the unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s political leadership, the steadfastness of the Armed Forces, and the resilience of the nation during the recent national defence campaign, Marka-e-Haq, and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

The event, held at the Army House, was attended by a distinguished gathering, including the Honourable President of Pakistan, Mr Asif Ali Zardari; Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif; Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; Chairman Senate; Speaker of the National Assembly; Federal Ministers; Governors; Chief Ministers; the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee; Chiefs of Air and Naval Staff; and senior leaders from major political parties, along with top civil and military officials.

During the ceremony, participants paid rich tribute to the strategic leadership that guided the nation through a pivotal chapter in its history. They also lauded the valour and sacrifices of the Armed Forces and acknowledged the unshakeable patriotism of the Pakistani people.

In his address, the COAS expressed deep gratitude to the political leadership for their unity and vision during Marka-e-Haq and praised the effective coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force, which led to the operational success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

He also highlighted the vital role played by the youth and media in countering hostile disinformation efforts, particularly those initiated by India, describing their contribution as a “steel wall” against propaganda. Furthermore, he commended the role of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and diplomats, whose dedication and professionalism were pivotal in ensuring the country’s resilience during the crisis.
