Defence Minister Khawaja Asif urges PTI to show seriousness in dialogue for a meaningful outcome

Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday, urging the party to demonstrate seriousness in the ongoing dialogue if any meaningful outcome was to be achieved.
Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Asif expressed disappointment over PTI’s conduct in the National Assembly, describing it as unbecoming of a political party that claimed to believe in dialogue.
“The parties engaged in talks typically abandon their aggressive stance, but PTI has taken a completely contradictory position,” he said, lamenting the party’s approach to the ongoing discussions.
When questioned about the possibility of a deal being in the works, Asif firmly rejected the notion, stating that only the courts would decide the future of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The defence minister further clarified that no behind-the-scenes talks were taking place, stressing the transparency of the current discussions.
